IPL Auction 2025 Players L: The IPL 2025 Mega Auction is set to unfold in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Sunday and a few last-minute rejigs have been made to the player pool.
Ahead of the first day’s auction extravaganza, the BCCI has made three official additions to the initially announced 574-member players l.
Last week, a shortl comprising a horde of heavyweight Indian and overseas stars were announced with nearly 1000 players missing out on the final l.
The three latest entrants will interestingly be slotted in three different categories that of Capped Overseas, Capped Associate and Uncapped Indian. England international Jofra Archer, USA pacer Saurabh Netravalkar and Mumbai wicket-keeper Hardik Tamore are the latest entrants to the auction.
Player No: 575 – Jofra Archer
After initially opting himself out from the mega auction, Archer made an u-turn to mark himself available among the options short-led on November 24 and 25. According to reports, Archer and fellow England pacer Mark Wood were not initially granted the NOCs to participate in IPL 2025, with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) prioritising the Ashes. While Archer expressed his displeasure with the board, he was later granted the NOC, prompting him to throw his name back into the ring.
“Mark Wood and Jofra Archer were on the initial longl for the auction but then weren’t on the shortl and it turns out the sounds of it that the ECB have denied them NOCs,” cricket broadcaster Matt Kabir Floyd said on the It’s Not Just Cricket podcast.
Mumbai Indians had bought Archer at the 2022 mega auction for Rs 8 crore. After being entirely absent in the first season, Archer played just four matches in 2023 season before heading home after a recurrence of the elbow injury.
Though led as Player No. 575, Archer was added to Set No. 6 after player No. 33 in the capped fast bowler category. His base price is led at Rs 2 crore.
Player No: 576 – Saurabh Netravalkar
After impressing with his adept left-arm pace bowling in the T20 World Cup 2024 for USA, former Mumbai player Netravalkar made his late entry as the fourth Associate player in the auction. Netravalkar has led himself at a base price of Rs 30 lakh.
Player No: 577 – Hardik Tamore
Mumbai wicket-keeper Hardik Tamore is the last player led in the IPL 2025 Auction at No. 577. Tamore will be available for Rs 30 lakh base price, and has yet to make his IPL debut. He has only featured in 11 T20s for Mumbai, scoring 65 runs.
