CM Yogi to make aerial survey of Bundelkhand Expressway

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will conduct an aerial survey of Bundelkhand Expressway whose foundation was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Chitrakoot on February 29 last year.

The expressway originates from Bharatkoop in Chitrakoot district and passing through Banda, Hamirpur and Mahoba will be linked with Agra- Lucknow Expressway at Auraiya linking Bundelkhand with Delhi. Around 69 per cent of the work has been completed and the main carriageway is targeted to be completed by the end of December this year.

Bundelkhand is one of the most backward regions of the country and the NITI Aayog has selected Chitrakoot district as one of the aspirational districts.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Bundelkhand, the land of valour, would soon be the most developed region of the state and Defence Industrial Corridor in Bundelkhand and Bundelkhand Expressway would have important roles in the development of this region.

An official of UP Expressway Industrial Development Authority, the agency executing the project, said that the Defence Industrial Corridor in Bundelkhand along with the Expressway would accelerate the process of development in the region as it would help in promoting agriculture, trade and commerce and tourism in the region.
