A bizarre incident took place during the 3rd ODI between Australia vs South Africa Women’s ODI at the North Sydney Oval in Sydney when Australia’s Alana King hit a six on the leg side and ended up hitting her stumps in the follow-through.
However, she was not deemed out as the square-leg umpire signaled it was no-ball for height which added salt to the wounds of Masabata Klaas in 48th over of the innings. King also managed to hit the following ball which was a free hit for another maximum.
King coming down the order contributed with a handy 17 helping Australia’s score to get to 277/9 from 50 overs. Middle-order batter Beth Mooney was the top scorer of the innings with 82 runs. Masabata Klaas was also the pick of the bowlers with four wickets for South Africa.

The series is leveled at 1-1 before this game. South Africa surprised everyone beating Australia in the 2nd ODI 84 runs on the DLS method to make a comeback into the series after losing the first one comprehensively.
Australia announces squad for only Test
After the ODI series South Africa will play a Test against Australia at the W.A.C.A. Ground in Perth starting on 15th February. Australia has announced their squad for the only Test. Alyssa Healy will continue to captain the side.
A noticeable change in the squad was spin bowling all-rounder Sophie Molineux’s involvement. She is making a comeback after overcoming a series of injuries and setbacks suffered during the 2022 Ashes and the ODI World Cup.
