The dressing room drama
Reeling at the 9th spot in the 10-team competition, Mumbai Indians decision to remove Rohit Sharma, the present India skipper who has led the franchise to five Indian Premier League (IPL) titles, hasn’t been a popular one with Hardik Pandya getting repeatedly booed fans on match days at the start of the season.

Earlier this week, the Indian Express has also reported that the senior Mumbai Indians players are not happy with Hardik’s leadership style.
It all started after Hardik Pandya blamed Tilak Varma’s match awareness for MI’s 10-run loss against Delhi Capitals.
What Hardik Pandya said about Tilak Varma
“(When) Axar was bowling to a left-hander (Tilak), the better option could have been to go after him,” Hardik said in his blunt assessment on the official broadcast after the game. “I think it was just a little game awareness that we missed out. At the end of the day, that cost us the game.”
The phase of the game that Hardik was talking about came when left-arm spinner Axar was bowling in the eighth over. MI were 72 for 3 at that stage. Axar only bowled two overs in the match. OF the 12 balls he bowled on the night, left-hand batter Tilak faced six balls. But on the first four balls of that contest, Tilak chose to pick just singles.
Tilak Varma scored 63 runs and was Mumbai Indians’ highest run-getter.
