Hyderabad women’s team coach Vidyut Jaisimha suspended for purportedly drinking in team bus | Cricket News

Hyderabad senior women’s team coach Vidyut Jaisimha has been suspended the state association after a video of him purportedly drinking alcohol in team bus was shared on WhatsApp groups and also aired on TV News channels.
“This is a matter of serious concern. I have asked for a thorough investigation to be done. A decision will be made based on the outcome of the investigation. In the interim, while the investigation is being carried out, I am directing you (Vidyut) to refrain from involving yourself in any cricketing activities on behalf of HCA,” a letter to Jaisimha, which was signed Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) president Jagan Mohan Rao, stated.
An HCA member Vanka Pratap, speaking to the local channels, said that it was not the first time there have been issues related to Vidyut. “There have been many complaints (related to drinking) in the past as well.”
Pratap and former India Test spinner Venkatapathi Raju was appointed to run HCA in September of 2022 the Supreme Court, amidst allegations of corruption in the state cricket unit. “I was part of a supervisory committee appointed the Supreme Court. When we received the complaints back then we removed him and appointed a women cricketer at the helm,” Pratap said.
However in February of 2023, Justice L Nageshwar Rao was appointed to oversee the elections and K Durga Prasad, a former IPS officer was asked to ass the former. “I informed Durga Prasad at the time to appoint a good coach for women’s cricket,” Pratap said.

“Prasad overlooked the suggestion and had re-appointed Vidyut. About 20 cricketers have complained in the past about him (Vidyut),” Pratap said.
When contacted Vidyut said that he was consulting a lawyer after he was suspended.
