1 dead, 200 arrested in US farm raid as judge orders halt to aggressive measures | World News

A California farm worker died on Friday after US immigration agents raided a cannabis nursery farm and arrested hundreds of workers as a federal judge ordered a temporary pause on the aggressive measures being followed to identify undocumented immigrants.
The operation was launched the federal agents on Thursday in rural Southern California where the adminration faced dozens of migrants rights activs creating hindrance in the immigration agents’ job. The raids in Southern California are being seen as the latest escalation in US President Donald Trump’s campaign for mass deportation of immigrants residing illegally in the United States.
Temporary halting the aggressive tactics being followed the Trump adminration against immigrants, a California judge on Friday blocked the federal government from racially profiling the migrants as it seeks denying immigrants’ right to access to lawyers during their detention.

The Trump adminration has shown a conflicting stance over whether immigration agents will target the farm labour workforce, about half of which is not authorized to work in the United States, as per the government estimates, Reuters reported.

Two locations were targeted during the cannabis operation Glass House Farms and about 200 people who were residing in America illegally were arrested in the raid, the Department of Homeland Security said.
Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Rodney Scott, in a post on X, stated that the facility where agents conducted raids is also under child labour violations as agents found about 10 minor migrants at the farm.
As per the photos and videos available from the scene, the raid conducted the federal agents in Southern California was chaotic with agents wearing helmets and face masks, while using smoke gas and caners on angry protesters.
A Reuters report stated that the worker who died was identified as Jaime Alanis on a verified GoFundMe page created his family.
