1,574 players will be on offer in Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah
IPL Auction: 1574 players have regered for the upcoming IPL 2025 Player Auction, which will be held on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the BCCI announced on Tuesday.
These 1574 players are vying for a total of 204 slots as each franchise is able to fill a maximum squad of 25 players. Of this, 1,165 cricketers are from India while there are also 409 overseas players in the mix.
The IPL auction l l includes 320 capped players, 1,224 uncapped players, and 30 players from Associate Nations.
When the IPL retention window shut recently, a total of 46 players had been retained between the 10 IPL franchises. For these retentions, the 10 teams had invested a cumulative total of Rs 558.5 crore.
Defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders and IPL-1 champions Rajasthan Royals opted for full retentions, securing six players each. Five teams — Chennai Super Kings, Gujarat Titans, Lucknow Super Giants, Mumbai Indians, and Sunrisers Hyderabad — chose to retain five players each.
Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and Punjab Kings (PBKS) have retained four, three, and two players, respectively. With Rs 110.5 crore in hand, Punjab Kings head into the highly anticipated action-packed mega auction with the largest purse.
