50 per cent times he is converting fifties into hundreds: Tilak Varma hailed former India selector | Cricket News

Former Indian selector MSK Prasad lauded Tilak Varma after his impressive outings thus far against the West Indies in the ongoing T20I series.
Varma scored his maiden T20I half-century in the second match of the series and had an impressive performance in the remaining two games.
“Look at his L A record for Hyderabad. He has played 25 L A games and has an average of 55 plus. Five hundreds and five half-centuries. It means at least 50 per cent times he is converting fifties into hundreds. A strike rate of 100 plus,” MSK Prasad told PTI.
Varma on Tuesday built an 87-run stand with vice-captain Suryakumar Yadav to help India win the first game of the T20I leg and keep the five-match series alive at 2-1.

He has impressed everyone with his batting technique, temperament and composure. With Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul yet to prove their fitness for the upcoming Asia Cup and 50-Over World Cup, fans and a few former cricketers have shouted to include Verma in the squad for those showpiece events.
“It won’t be a bad idea provided Shreyas (Iyer) can’t make it. Only then can you think of Varma. But I am sure he will be a white ball regular for India across formats going forward,” MSK Prasad added.

The young left-hander, in 25 L A games, has scored 1236 runs at an average of 56.18.
