Vodafone has revamped its Red postpaid plans to offer unlimited calls and more data to users in a bid to counter Reliance Jio. The revamped Vodafone Red postpaid plans come soon after Airtel started offering 3GB of free mobile data per month to prepaid and postpaid customers switching to its 4G network.
The Rs. 499 Vodafone Red postpaid plan provides users with unlimited national and local calls to any network, along with 3GB of 3G/ 4G data for 4G handset users (1GB for non-4G smartphones). Apart from these, the Rs. 499 Vodafone Red postpaid plan comes with free incoming roaming and 100 free text messages for a month. The Rs. 699 Vodafone Red postpaid plan comes with the same calling, roaming, and text messaging benefits, but ups the bundled 4G/ 3G data to 5GB for 4G smartphone users (2.5GB for non-4G handset users). The Rs. 899 Vodafone Red postpaid plan offers similar benefits, but increases the bundled mobile data to 8GB for 4G handset users (5GB for non-4G smartphones). Standard rates apply for outgoing calls on roaming.
Vodafone’s Rs. 1,299 Red postpaid plan comes with unlimited calls on home network as well as on roaming (i.e. free outgoing calls on roaming). It also comes with 100 text messages, and 12GB of bundled 4G/ 3G data for 4G smartphone users (8GB for non-4G smartphones).
Gadgets 360 tried to get in touch with Vodafone to confirm the new Red postpaid plans, but the company declined to comment on the revamped plans. However, it’s evident the revamped Vodafone Red postpaid plans are available in some regions, with dealers already hawking them (as seen in the above image). These are just the latest in a growing range of plans released by Indian telecom operators to take on the Reliance Jio free services, which recently got an extension of three months under the Jio Happy New Year Offer.
