I will try and stay as consent’: Ruturaj Gaikwad tells Moeen Ali after CSK’s 12 run win over LSG
MS Dhoni-led CSK beat Lucknow Super Giants 12 runs and two stars from the side Ruturaj Gaikwad and Moeen Ali made this happen as the duo made significant contributions with the bat and ball.
Sharing their views on their performances after the match, both Moeen and Ruturaj discussed the game in a video interview shared CSK on their official social media handles.
“Yeah, it was an excellent win but we were under pressure when they were building a good partnership, I was actually just trying to spin the ball hard like Test cricket as much I can, but not obviously get up there because they have dangerous players who can hit the ball,” said Moeen Ali who claimed 4-26 in a high-scoring contest where both sides breached 200.
“To be honest I’m not looking at Orange cap or anything, just want to contribute to our team. We didn’t have a good season last year and obviously giving a start is the main priority for Conway and me and thankfully it has been happening since last two games. Hopefully, I’ll continue and try and stay as consent,” Ruturaj Gaikwad, who played 31-ball 57 runs knock and second consecutive fifty in the two matches he has played so far in the season.
On his chemry and how he complements Devon Conway, Ruturaj said, “I think me and Dev going really well because we exactly know with bowler to target and who we’ll target. We generally do not speak about it but we get to know that left-arm spinners bowling Dave is gonna take him off. Off-spinner bowling, i will take him. So, we exactly know what each other strengths are. I think this is what has been really working even the last season and hopefully, it worked today as well.”
