SRH vs DC tip-off XI: Prithvi Shaw likely to get dropped, Mitchell Marsh to open, Priyam Garg might play
IPL 2023: Aiden Markram-led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will take on David Warner’s Delhi Capitals in the IPL on Monday.
After starting the tournament with five losses, Delhi has regered their first win of the tournament against Kolkata Knight Riders. Sunrisers Hyderabad have slumped to back-to-back defeats after it seemed their campaign had taken off. They currently occupy the penultimate spot on the table with four points from six games.
Ahead of the clash between two teams, who are at the bottom of the table, Indian Express brings you the tip-off XI.
Prithvi Shaw likely to get dropped
Prithvi Shaw’s place in the Delhi Capitals side has come under scanner. Scores of 12, 7, 0, 15, 0 and 13, in the six outings have highlighted Shaw’s inability to tackle pace and spin, and a quick-fix is unlikely. Shaw has struggled to find his rhythm and there are high chances that Delhi Capitals might drop the opener.
Marsh to open with Warner
Australian all-rounder Marsh has also had a woeful run with the bat, that includes two ducks in the four games and a high score of four. He hasn’t fared well with the ball either, and it is to be seen if the management perss with him. If Delhi Capitals drops Shaw from the playing XI, we might see Mitchell Marsh opening the innings with David Warner.
Priyam Garg to play
Delhi Capitals has roped in Uttar Pradesh batter Priyam as a replacement for the injured Kamlesh Nagarkoti for the remainder of the season and the right-handed batter might walk straight into the middle order. The attacking batter was first picked Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2020 and featured in 21 IPL games for SRH across three seasons. Garg is a forced inclusion despite his poor showing in recent years due to lack of options for Delhi Capitals.
Venue Stats
The surface at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium has favoured the batting team in the three matches so far.
