Possible meteorite crashes through roof in US home | Trending

Pictures of a metallic oblong-shaped rock has created a chatter among people as it could very well be from outer space. The object crashed through the roof of a home in the US and police are now suspecting that it is a meteorite. Hopewell Township NJ Police took to Facebook to share the pictures of the object along with a press release explaining the situation.

“Possible Meteorite Strikes House in Hopewell Township. A metallic object believed to be a meteorite struck the roof of a residence located on Old Washington Crossing Pennington Rd. The ranch style home was occupied at the time but there were no injuries reported. The object, which is described as approximately 4″ x 6″ is oblong in shape and appears metallic. It penetrated the roof, the ceiling and then impacted the hardwood floor before coming to a rest,” reads a part of the press release. It also informs that the department is in touch with different agencies to “positively” identify the object.
