I don’t give myself enough credit because I play under so much stress: Virat Kohli after his sixth IPL hundred

Virat Kohli was at his chasing best as he amassed 100 off 63 deliveries against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday to inspire the Royal Challengers Bangalore to an eight wicket win.
With his hundred, a sixth in the IPL, Kohli drew level alongside former RCB opener Chris Gayle for most triple figure scores in the competition’s hory.
Following the win, Kohli – the player of the match – said, “Was telling the boys…the way I’m looked at as an IPL player as well is like ‘yeah, he’s fine, few impact knocks’. It’s my 6th IPL hundred. I don’t give myself enough credit sometimes because I put myself under so much stress already. I don’t care what anyone says on the outside. That’s their opinion.”
On his range of shots in the shorter format, the former India and RCB captain said it was best to stay true to his technique with a World Test Championship Final around the corner, “For me it’s not about playing fancy shots and throwing my wicket away. We’ve got Test cricket (coming up) after the IPL, have to stay true to my technique.”
Coming out to open alongside Faf du Plessis, Kohli stitched together a 172 run stand for the first wicket off 107 deliveries.

“I think it’s the tattoos (secret behind partnership with Faf). We almost have 900 runs together this season. Very similar how I used to feel with AB and me batting together,” he said.
RCB are now fourth in the points table with seven wins and six defeats in the season so far and a game to go.
