‘Golden Boy’: Ravindra Jadeja recalls India’s last ICC trophy triumph
Indian star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja recalled India’s triumph in the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy final against England at Edgbaston in Birmingham on the 10th anniversary of the horic triumph. The 34-year-old posted a picture on his social media captioning it “GOLDEN BOY #missioncompleted”
In the picture, the Southpaw is seen with a Player Of the Match award for his 25-ball 33 against England at a crucial stage of the innings which helped India to get to a mediocre 129 in the final match. However courtesy of the bowlers’ brilliance India won the thrilling finale five runs.
In addition to his heroics in the final, Jadeja was exceptional with the ball throughout the tournament. He also won the Golden Ball award for picking up the most wickets in the tournament with 12 scalps from five games at an average of 12.83.

Shikhar Dhawan, who had received the Player Of the Tournament, helped India to post solid starts in matches along with Rohit Sharma. Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s swing with the new ball dealt much damage to the opposition while spin twins Ravichandran Ashwin and Jadeja spun magic with the old ball.
2013 was the last time India lifted an ICC trophy. After that, despite the Men in Blue regularly reaching the knockouts of the ICC tournaments, they are unable to get over the final hurdle. Later this year in the 50-over World Cup at home, Rohit and his men will be looking to break the long-standing trophy drought.
