Manchester United takeover: ‘I think the big issue is…’, Rio Ferdinand gives fresh update on sale the Glazer family

Manchester United, one of the most successful and popular football clubs in the world, has been put up for sale the Glazer family.
The sale process which began quite a few months ago has found two main bidders in Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar and Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the British billionaire behind the INEOS chemical company.
But as of this date, the sale process is still ongoing. It is possible that a deal could be reached in the coming weeks or months, but it is also possible that the sale could drag on for longer.
However, former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand revealed that the club’s takeover is being held up due to internal disagreements among the Glazer family. According to Ferdinand, fans can expect some news in the coming week.
“I had some news from a very good source, my great source at Manchester United. Things were running quite smoothly and it was going down the right path but then obviously [it hit a bump],” Ferdinand said on his FIVE YouTube show.

“I think the big issue is, when you’re dealing with a group of people rather than an individual, it makes things very complex and difficult at times. You’re not dealing with one individual with the Glazers – I think Jim Ratcliffe came out and said it.”
“That’s been the issue behind the scenes, I didn’t want to come out and say it, but you’re dealing with siblings in the Glazer family who are there to make a collective decision.”
“I don’t think one person can just make a decision on their own, so therefore that makes it very difficult to say yes immediately just like that [clicks fingers]. It’s a process that they have to go through.”
