‘The end of an era for us touring with Test cricket’: David Warner’s wife writes cryptic post

Australian opener David Warner’s wife Candice Warner uploaded a cryptic post on her social media fuelling speculation on her husband’s future in the Test format.
“The end of an era for us touring with test cricket, it’s been fun. Forever your biggest supporters and your girl gang. Love you @davidwarner31,” she wrote.
Earlier in June, Warner said the Test match against Pakan in the coming Australian summer would be his final. Speaking to The Guardian, he said, “You’ve got to score runs. I’ve always said the (T20) World Cup would probably be my final game.

“I probably owe it to myself and my family if I can score runs here [to] continue to play back in Australia. I can definitely say I won’t be playing that West Indies series. If I can get through this and make the Pakan series I will definitely finish up then.”
However, Warner’s continued to struggle against Stuart Broad with the new Dukes ball has continued on from the 2019 Ashes series. The English new ball bowler picked up Warner’s wicket for the 17th time in his Test career in the third Ashes Test at Headingley in Leeds.
The dismissal once again raised the debate about Warner’s ability to play the moving ball and his struggles against Broad. With the series poised at 2-1 going into the next Test at Old Trafford, his role in the team has been questioned.
Skipper Pat Cummins when asked about the combination going into the next Test, said, “We’ll keep all our options open. We’ve got nine or 10 days now, so we’ll take a deep breath.

“We’ll go away for a few days but everyone comes back into it. Greeny should be fit for Manchester; we should have a full roster. We’ll have a look at the wicket, have a chat and work out the best XI,” he added.
