T20 Cricket in US, starring Knight Riders, Super Kings, Faf Du Plessis, Rashid Khan and Satya Nadella

Major League Cricket (MLC) is all set to kick off on Thursday with Texas Super Kings taking on Los Angeles Knight Riders in the inaugural game at Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas. The six teams are owned mainly Indian Americans who are venture capitals, in the start-up and IT sector.The crisp tournament goes on for 17 days till July 31 with 19 games across two venues in Dallas and Church Street Park in Morrisville. The competition initially was set to be played in 2021, however, due to COVID-19 Pandemic the tournament had been postponed to 2023. The league is filled with some of the star names of international cricket with the likes of Afghanan’s Rashid Khan, former South Africa skipper Faf Du Plessis, England star opener Jason Roy and New Zealand seamer Trent Boult.

Each team can have a minimum of 16 members in the squad and a maximum of 19. And franchises can have nine foreigners in their squad. Each franchise should also have one U-23 player in their squad which would help in the development of young American cricketers. Franchises can field upto six foreign players in their playing XIs

Format
All six teams will play each other once in a round-robin format to qualify for the playoffs which include Eliminator, Qualifier, Challenger and Final.
