When we won the Bangalore Test, stones were pelted on the team bus: Shahid Afridi backs Pakan touring India for World Cup

With less than three months left in the 2023 ODI World Cup, the talks around Pakan cricket team touring India for the tournament have found those in favor as well as those against.
Earlier this month, Pakan sports miner Ehsaan Mazari had told The Indian Express, “My personal opinion, since the Pakan Cricket Board (PCB) comes under my minry, is that if India demands to play their Asia Cup games at a neutral venue, we would also demand the same for our World Cup games in India.”
Former Pakan skipper Shahid Afridi however, has no doubt and believes that Babar Azam and Co should go to India and play the game in Ahmedabad slated for October 15.
“It was a high pressure moment in our careers (tours of India). When we hit boundaries, there was no one to cheer. When we won the Bangalore Test and were departing for hotel, stones were pelted on the team bus. The pressure is there, of course but then it’s only fun when there’s pressure,” he said at a recent event.
“People are saying that Pakan should not go to India. I am totally against it, I think we should go there and win the match,” Afridi added.

The upcoming India-Pakan contest at the World Cup will be the eighth meeting between the two in the ODI tournament. The men in blue have won all dating all the way back to 1992.
