Longevity, fitness, endurance and an incredible desire to play Test cricket for a long period for your country are the secrets behind James Anderson and Stuart Broad’s longevity, feels legendary South African bowler Allan Donald.
James Anderson, who will turn 41 in couple of days has bagged 689 wickets in 183 Test, while bowling partner Stuart Broad has 600 wickets in 167 Tests. The duo are the only two seamers to reach the 600-wicket mark in the Test cricket hory.

“Stuart Broad and James Anderson are just being sublime and i mean that in the red ball format,” Allan Donald told Ab de Villers.
“Its unbelievable. They look after themselves really really well. I just think that those two guys thrive on be the best they can collectively be in a Test arena.
“They absolutely love Test format and what example they are being to any young fast bowlers around the world.
“Anyone wants to be Jimmy Anderson and Stuart Broad … gosh I guess lot of people would love to go and sit down with them and ask their secret behind this longevity. It’s just their hunger, desire, passion for Test cricket.

“I think there is a competitive edge between them, They drive each other, they inspire each other and that’s how they get themselves to almost untouchable level. I have got nothing but utmost respect for those two guys,” he said.
James Anderson is having a low-key returns so far in the Ashes as he has managed only four wickets in three Tests. Meanwhile, the 37-year-old Stuart Broad has 18 scalps in the four Tests.
