Disappointed to be leaving: Mike Hesson, ex-director of cricket operations of RCB, pens thank you note to fans, players and management | Cricket News

Former Royal Challengers Bangalore director of cricket operations Mike Hesson on Friday said that he was ‘disappointed’ to leave the franchise after the team announced that Andy Flower will replace Sanjay Bangar as the head coach for the upcoming season.
“Although we were able to make good progress making 3 playoffs in the last 4 seasons we were not able to win the elusive trophy that I like so many players, support staff and the amazing fans so dearly wanted. Although disappointed to be leaving RCB I have some very fond memories working with great people both on and off the park,” he said on Instagram..“I would like to thank the management for the opportunity and wish RCB and it’s new coaching team the very best. Lastly to the amazing RCB fans, you are unwavering in your support and passion for the team and made me feel at home, for that I thank you,” he added.

Confirming his exit, Bangar had also thanked the franchise for giving him an opportunity to work with them and termed their tenure as a rewarding experience.
RCB is yet to make an announcement regarding the coaching staff of their team in the Women’s Premier League. Ben Sawyer is the head coach of the team, and his contract too is under review as part of an internal review.
Meanwhile, the 55-year-old Andy has coached the International and franchise cricket teams for over a decade and in that time has won PSL, The Hundred, ILT20, T10. He went onto be a hugely successful coach for England, winning home and away Ashes campaigns as well as the T20 World Cup in 2010 taking England test team to No 1 in the world. He is also the first player from Zimbabwe to be inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame.
