‘You might get a breath of fresh air like you did with Tilak Varma, so why not?’: Jaffer bats for Jaiswal’s inclusion for 3rd T20 | Cricket News

Former India opener Wasim Jaffer has asked Team India management to give Ishan Kishan a break and give Yashasvi Jaiswal a chance in the third T20I to bring the “breath of fresh air” in the batting line-up.
“We know that Ishan Kishan has struggled in the T20 internationals, so give him a break. He might come back stronger when he plays next,” Jaffer said on ESPNCricinfo.
Kishan has struggled in the T20Is recently. In his last seven outings, the wicketkeeper-batter has crossed the double figures mark only twice.
On the other hand, Jaiswal, who has made an excellent Test debut has had a brilliant IPL season, where he has amassed 625 runs in 14 innings, including one century and five fifties.
“I would pick Yashasvi Jaiswal without a doubt just because he brings that fearlessness. He plays spin well and his batting against fast bowling is exemplary,” said Jaffer.
“He’s right at the peak of his game, high on confidence, so why not throw him in the mix and see what you get? He’s got runs in Tests and he’s looking for an opportunity. You might get a breath of fresh air like you did with Tilak Varma, so why not?,” Jaffer added.

West Indies are leaing the five-match contest 2-0. That’s one win away from clinching the series before it moves to the United States for the last two games.
The teams will stay in Providence, Guyana, for the third T20 on Tuesday, with the final two matches set for Lauderhill, Florida, on August 12 and 13.
