Watch: Pat Cummins bursts into laughter after being asked about England’s loss | Cricket-world-cup News
Australia captain Pat Cummins chuckled, paused and then burst with laughter in response to the query he’d just faced. A few moments back he’d referred to the New Zealand players his team face on Saturday in Dharamsala as their ‘good mates’.
Now, he was asked one of the Australian reporters, “You mentioned good friends in other teams. It must have been heartbreaking to see England suffer last night?”

The 31-year-old took his time before going, “Yeah….obviously got them in a couple of games. We’ll have a close look then. But yeah….don’t have much for it (now),” he’d say before breaking into a laugh again.
It was indicative of the contrasting state of the two teams on the 2023 ODI World Cup points table. While Australia, who started off with back-to-back defeats to India and South Africa, sit fourth in the points table after three straight wins, England plummeted to the ninth spot after their defeat against Sri Lanka on Thursday.
The loss was a fourth for the defending champions at this World Cup to add to the ones they faced at the hands of New Zealand, Afghanan and South Africa, and has all but ended their hopes of a semifinal spot.
The five-time world champions, though, have the opportunity to overtake their other longtime cricket rivals in New Zealand if they win against the Black Caps.
