Australia’s swashbuckling batter Glenn Maxwell suffered a concussion and facial bruising on Monday after falling off the back of a golf cart and has been ruled out of their league stage game against England on Saturday.
The 35-year-old, who scored the quickest hundred in World Cup hory last year, was part of the group of players who were playing golf in Ahmedabad during the one week break since their win against New Zealand in Dharamsala. Per cricket.com.au, the aforementioned incident took place during evening hours and no other player has been hurt during the same.

It’s the second time in less than a year’s time that Maxwell has been involved in an off-the-field injury. Last year, during his birthday party in November, Maxwell had picked up a leg injury in Melbourne.Most Read

Australia, who have won four matches on a trot at the ODI World Cup after having got off to a poor start with consecutive defeats against India and South Africa, play their arch rivals next at the weekend at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
