Chennai Super Kings spinner Maheesh Theekshana has expressed his concern over the incessant rains in Tamil Nadu due to cyclone Michuang. The Sri Lankan off-spinner took to X (Formerly known as Twitter) to share his thoughts.
“Just watched some concerning footage from my second home, Chennai. Sending all my love and prayers to everyone affected. Stay strong, stay safe. We’re in this together,” Theekshana wrote.
Heavy rain along with strong winds continued to lash Chennai and its neighbourhoods on Monday due to Cyclone Michaung, which is expected to make landfall in the next 24 hours. Several parts of the city were flooded with authorities closing schools and offices, stopping flights, and evacuating people from flooded areas.

Visuals of cars parked in parking spaces in residential areas floating due to the flooding were shared on social media. As per reports, Five Furlong Road that connects Guindy and Velachery caved in and the roof of a petrol pump near was also damaged due to the incessant rain.
The off-spinner was part of the title-winning squad of the Super Kings earlier this year. In 22 games he picked up 23 wickets at an economy rate of 7.77. He was also among the l of retained players for the five-time champions ahead of the auction.
