‘Don’t hold a press conference after evey three minutes’: Wasim Akram advice for Wahab Riaz and Mohammad Hafeez | Cricket News

Wasim Akram has asked the Pakan cricket team new management to be brave and stick to their decision and has advised Wahab Riaz and Mohammad Hafeez to not hold press conferences so regularly.
“Don’t hold press conferences every three minutes. Stick to your decisions and be brave,” Akram said in a video posted on X.
Akram has requested the PCB to give the current team management at least a year to prove themselves.
“Mohammad Hafeez has joined the Pakan Cricket Board as team director and Wahab Riaz has taken over as chief selector, Kamran Akmal and all others,” Akram said in a video.

“These are present cricketers. This is their time and let’s give them at least one year to prove themselves,” he said.
Following the ODI World Cup debacle there has been a plenty of changes in the Pakan cricket team. Captain Babar Azam was asked to step down. CB announced Shaheen Afridi as the leader of the T20I side, Babar was replaced Shan Masood in the Test team.
The cricket board also roped in former all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez as the head coach and team director. Wahab Riaz was picked as the national selector with Umar Gul and Saeed Ajmal being roped in as fast bowling and spin bowling coaches respectively.

However, the PCB, who can’t stay away from the controvery appointed Salman Butt as a consultant to Pakan’s chief selector alongwith Kamran Akmal and Rao Iftikhar Anjum.
The appointment of Butt had evoked sharp responses from former Pakan cricketers like Ramiz Raja and Pakanis media because in 2011, Butt had admitted to spot-fixing in a Test match at Lord’s. He was banned from the sport for five years and even spent time in jail in England.
As captain, Butt had convinced pacers Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif to bowl no-balls in return for a hefty payment in the Lord’s Test against England in 2010. After being convicted, Butt was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison but was released early.
Barely a day after the appointment, Butt was removed and he was replaced Asad Shafique.
Pakan will play their first Test against Australia, starting from December 14.
