Jude Bellingham accused of calling Mason Greenwood a ‘rap’ | Football News

Real Madrid mid-fielder Jude Bellingham has been accused of calling fellow Englishman Mason Greenwood a “rap” during their La Liga match on Thursday.
During Real Madrid’s 2-0 win over Getafe Bellingham was seen on camera mouthing what appeared to be the word rap.
The incident was picked up fans watching on TV, with some suggesting what Bellingham actually said was “rubbish” and La Liga confirmed that a lip reader would be asked to examine the footage.
“Getafe yesterday transferred the complaint to the La Liga match director and La Liga, as it always does on these occasions, has requested an expert report on lip reading to investigate the matter and act on the basis of what can be proven beyond doubt [ the lip reader],” La Liga said in a statement.
Greenwood joined Getafe on loan from Manchester United in September after the English player left his old club following a criminal investigation into a possible attempted rape that was closed prosecutors.
He had not played for United since January 2022 after he was implicated in controlling and coercive behavior and assault relating to a woman after images and videos were posted online. Prosecutors in England closed their case in Feb. 2023, saying “a combination of the withdrawal of key witnesses and new material that came to light meant there was no longer a realic prospect of conviction.”
Greenwood, 22, has played well for Getafe and helped it reach 10th place despite the loss to leader Madrid.
Joselu Mato scored a goal in each half to move Madrid two points clear of Girona at the top of the standings.
It was the sixth straight league victory for Madrid, which is unbeaten in 25 matches in all competitions, since a 3-1 league loss at Atletico Madrid in September.
Madrid is 10 points ahead of both Atletico and defending champion Barcelona.
