‘Hopefully, he stresses less and focuses on his game’: Michael Clarke on Rohit Sharma | Ipl News

Mumbai Indians’ opening batter Rohit Sharma after scoring a ton early in the season against Chennai Super Kings is going through a lean patch. During the 105-run innings, he looked in sublime touch executing ridiculously difficult shots with elegance and ease which only he can do.
At that point of the season, it seemed like Rohit would have a big IPL season however, his form has tapered off since the hundred. “Hopefully, he stresses less and focuses on his game because he’s too talented to keep missing out,” said former Australian cricketer Michael Clarke on Star Sports.
“In my view, he might be feeling a bit fatigued as well. A break to freshen up could do wonders for him, but as the Indian captain and a key player for Mumbai Indians, you’re not getting a break. So he’s going to have to find form,” Clarke added.
Since 2019 Rohit has not crossed the 400-run mark in IPL. In the ongoing season, he has scored 330 runs at an average of 30 and a strike rate of 152.78. “I saw him the other day before the last game batting in the nets when his back was a little bit stiff.” the Aussie would reveal.
“He doesn’t seem to be struggling with his timing; it’s just a matter of getting out. He’s at his best when he’s timing the ball, rather than trying to force it. He’s a great player, and I have no doubt he’ll bounce back soon,” Clarke showed confidence in the Indian skipper.
MI struggles
It is not only Rohit who has been going through a lean patch this season the franchise under new captain Hardik Pandya too is having a poor run. In 12 games Mumbai Indians have only won four games. Though there is a mathematical possibility of them getting in the top four if a lot of results go in their favour but it is highly unlikely.
