IPL Points Table 2024, Team Rankings: The Punjab Kings slipped further below in the points table after their 60-run defeat to the Royal Challengers Bangalore on Thursday in Dharamsala. While RCB regered their fifth win of the season, the Faf du Plessis-led side remained seventh in the tally.
On Wednesday, The Sunrisers Hyderabad kept their play-off chances alive after they demolished the Lucknow Super Giants 10 wickets, chasing down a target of 166 in just the 9.4 overs. Lucknow stayed 6th after the defeat.
The Delhi Capitals kept themselves alive in the Playoffs race with a 20-run win over Rajasthan Royals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Tuesday in an IPL 2024 encounter. DC’s win also deflated RR’s official IPL Playoffs qualification numbers, preventing them rom getting to the top spot held Kolkata Knight Riders.

The playoff scenario
RR, KKR, CSK and SRH are the four sides that are currently in the top four. The top four teams will qualify for the IPL 2024 playoffs. The top two teams will play in the first Qualifier with the winner going straight into the final. The Eliminator will be played between the teams who are placed third and fourth in the IPL 2024 standings. The winner of the Eliminator will lock horns against the losing team of Qualifier 1. The winner of the Qualifier 2 will enter the final, which will be held at May 26.
