On Sunday, Shreyas Iyer-led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defeated Pat Cummins’ Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) eight wickets to win the Indian Premier League (IPL) trophy for the third time. KKR had previously won the IPL titles in 2012 and 2014 under the captaincy of Gautam Gambhir, who is presently the mentor of the Shreyas Iyer-led outfit. This season they had dominated finishing on top at the end of the league stage with nine wins from 14 games.
