Every ball, 100% intensity: Will Jacks on his learning experience from Virat Kohli at RCB | Cricket News
England batter Will Jacks who shared a dressing room with Virat Kohli at the Royal Challengers Bengaluru opened up on his experience working with the Indian batter on the sidelines of the 3rd T20I between England and Pakan.
Asked Nasser Hussain on his learning experience with the Indian maestro, the 25-year-old said, “I think, firstly his attitude towards training. Every day is a day to get better. And that was really obvious. Some guys say but it’s harder to do that but with him, it was very obvious. And the way he goes into the game. Every ball, 100% intensity. When I batted with him in a chase, it was how he picked out how to do the chase. It was not just going ball ball, looking ahead, really to see where he could plan and take risks at a certain time.”
Kohli was in the other end from Jacks when he scored a blering century against the Gujarat Titans in the recently-concluded IPL where the Englishman went from 50 to 100 in just 10 balls. In that match, he had taken a while to find his notes. At one stage, he was going along at a run-a-ball 17. Then Jacks simply broke free with his neat swings down the ground, leaving the bowlers broken and bruised.

“Definitely surprised myself. I didn’t realize how quickly it was until I found out afterwards. But now, especially batting at number 3, I realise I need to take my time,” Jacks said, talking about the knock.
Next up for the batter is the 4th T20I against Pakan at the Kennington Oval in London on May 30 after the 3rd T20I was washed out on Wednesday.
After that, he along with England, will head to the T20 World Cup where they’ll be facing Scotland in the first match on June 4.
