The teams will be meeting in the T20 World Cup for the eighth time across nine editions, with India conceding defeat only once. The teams first met in the group stage of the 2007 T20 World Cup where the Men in Blue emerged victorious in a nail-biting bowl out after the match ended in a tie. Chasing a 160-run target, India were reduced to 31 for four Pakan seamers Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf before Kohli and Hardik Pandya forged a 113-run partnership. The chase was however progressively slipping off India’s grasp as the side required 48 from the last three overs. The equation boiled down to 28 off two deliveries before Kohli launched an other-wordly straight pull off Rauf for a six and backed it up with a flick over backward square for another maximum. Indian then scraped through off the final delivery as Kohli finished unbeaten on 82 off 53 deliveries.
