The past 12 hours of monsoon showers have caused waterlogging and disrupted traffic, affecting both public and private transport. Many in the comments section prayed for the well-being of the residents and the situation to get better. Mumbai is currently grappling with intense monsoon fury. This morning, the city experienced a torrential downpour, with Mulund and Malabar Hills recording a staggering 34 mm of rainfall in just one hour. In the last 24 hours, the rainfall has reached a substantial 135 mm, leading to widespread waterlogging and traffic disruptions. To exacerbate the situation, a high tide of 4.59 meters is expected to hit the city around 1 pm, further elevating flood risks. In response to this, three National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams have been deployed to Mumbai. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for the city, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall with the possibility of extremely heavy rainfall in isolated areas.
