Paris 2024 Olympics India, Day 8 Highlights: Manu Bhaker created hory with her first two medals at Paris Olympics, and on Saturday, she came within a whisker of a hat-trick. But Manu Bhaker’s memorable Paris 2024 came to a close with a 4th placed finish, in a thrilling 25m women’s pol final at the Chateauroux shooting range.With another sublime qualifying round on Friday, Manu Bhaker had qualified for her third final of the Paris Olympics. In the final, she made a superb comeback after a slow start, but finished 4th after a tiebreaker was needed to decide the top 3. It will still go down as one of the greatest ever Olympic Games campaigns an Indian athlete.
In archery, Deepika Kumari’s quarterfinal defeat brought an end to India’s campaign. She first got the better of German 7th see Michelle Kroppen to enter the women’s recurve quarterfinal but despite taking the lead twice, she lost against Korean 2nd see Nam Suhyeon. It was also end of the road for Bhajan Kaur earlier, who missed out on a golden opportunity to reach the business end.
In boxing, Nishant Dev lost a tough quarterfinal against Marco Alonso Verde Alvarez and finished his campaign one win short of the podium. Lovlina Borgohain is now the last standing Indian boxer.
