Oct 06, 2024 06:18 PM The Zomato CEO was stopped from entering a mall to get the food he was supposed to deliver. Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal, who recently worked as a food delivery agent for a day along with this wife Grecia Munoz, shared a video on Instagram revealing that he was asked to use the stairs and not allowed to enter a Gurgaon mall while he was delivering food. Wearing a delivery agent’s uniform, Deepinder Goyal took on the challenge to understand the challenges faced his delivery employees every day. “We reached Ambience Mall in Gurgaon to pick up the order from Haldiram’s. I was told to take the other entrance and realised that they are asking me to take the stairs,” Goyal wrote in the video, which showed him walk up to the mall’s entrance in a Zomato delivery boy’s red uniform. He can be seen having a brief conversation with the security guards who point him away to a staircase to the side. He enquires again to check if there are special elevators for the delivery executives before climbing the stairs to the third floor to reach the restaurant. Goyal said he was “finally able to sneak in” to pick up the order while the security guard was on a staircase break. “And then was finally out to delivery,” he signed off the video. Goyal took on the challenge to be a delivery guy for a day to understand the daily challenges faced his employees. “During my second order, I realised that we need to work with malls more closely to improve working conditions for all delivery partners. And malls also need to be more humane to delivery partners,” he wrote. During his day as a delivery driver, he shared multiple posts. “In a heartfelt reel shared on his social media, Goyal expressed his enthusiasm for the experience, stating, “Loving delivering food to our customers, and enjoying the ride,” he captioned one of them.
