Mohammad Rizwan named Pakan white-ball captain | Cricket News

Wicket-keeper Mohammad Rizwan was named the Pakan white ball captain on Sunday, taking over the role after Babar Azam had left the responsibility a few weeks ago.
Rizwan’s first tour as captain will be against Australia where the Men in Green will play 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is, starting from November 4-18. He will then lead the team against Zimbabwe for 3 ODIs but will be rested for the 3 T20Is in a series which will start from November 24 and go on till December 5.
Babar, Naseem Shah and Shaheen Shah Afridi, who were given a break from the last two Tests against England, return for the Australia matches but will be rested for the Zimbabwe tour.

Meanwhile, Kamran Ghulam, Omair Bin Yousuf and Sufyan Moqim make their national side debut, having previously played limited-overs internationals.
Fast bowler Mohammad Hasnain also returns to the ODI side, having last represented Pakan in an ODI against New Zealand in January 2023.
Apart from Babar, Naseem, Rizwan, Salman, and Shaheen, four other players have been selected in both the ODI and T20I squads. They are: Arafat Minhas, Haris Rauf, Haseebullah and Muhammad Irfan Khan.

Earlier, news broke that Pakan’s premium fast bowlers Afridi and Haris Rauf have been demoted in rank in their Pakan central contracts. The former who was an A-category player before has been pushed down to B while the latter has been pushed to C from B.
