I don’t think that the Indian batters are going to stand up to our quicks: Brad Haddin | Cricket News

The Indian batting order has been susceptible to collapses in recent years. Going into the Border Gavaskar Trophy the biggest challenge is if the batting lineup can put on consent performances as a collective for the five Test matches against the likes of Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Josh Hazelwood.
However, former Australian cricketer Brad Haddin thinks Indian batters cannot stand up against the Aussie quicks. “I don’t think that the Indian batters are going to stand up to our quicks. I know (Yashasvi) Jaiswal is a really good player, but he hasn’t come out and seen Australia before, so I’m not sure whether he is going to handle the bounce. Opening in Perth is hard work,” he said speaking on on the LNR Sport podcast.
India has opted to move on from Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane from the middle order in recent times who have played a crucial role in India’s series Down Under. In addition to Jaiswal, many Indian batters will be playing in Australia for first time.
“I really do believe that they should have a warm-up game. In the gaps between Test matches, they really should have warm-up games. Not necessarily for the senior players. But for the junior players who have never played in Australia before. For the Yashasvi Jaiswals, the Sarfaraz Khans, the Dhruv Jurels, all these young batters. Even against an Australia A team or a state side like Queensland. Juniors must be given the opportunity to get used to the bounce and pitches in Australia,” urged Sunil Gavaskar speaking to this publication before.
Both battings can collapse
“At one time or the other in the series, the top order will get knocked over. Both fast-bowling attacks are so good that they will get on a roll and knock over the top order.” former Australian player Aaron Finch would predict.
“I think the key could be Alex Carey and Rishabh Pant. The two wicketkeepers are going to be so important. The game is going to go one or two ways really quick. And I think that will be so important,” Finch added.
