Australia assant Coach Daniel Vettori is likely to attend IPL Auction during 1st IND vs AUS Perth Test | Cricket News

While both the Indian and Australian players will be immersed in the battle of red-ball cricket during the first Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test match at the Optus Stadium in Perth starting on 22nd November, in the other part of the world in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia another cannon event in IPL Mega Auction is scheduled on 24th and 25th.
Interestingly Australia’s assant coach Daniel Vettori is also the Head Coach of the IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad led Australian red-ball skipper Pat Cummins. According to a publication The Age from The Down Under Vettori would likely be at the auction table for the Hyderabad-based franchise instead of Perth for the Test match.
“Vettori will likely be in Saudi Arabia holding a paddle at the IPL’s mega player auction in Jeddah instead of being at Optus Stadium when the first Test reaches its conclusion,” quoted the Australian publication. “The latest battle between club and country not only highlights India’s power but also the increasing creep of domestic Twenty20 leagues into international cricket,” it further states.
Pakan toured Australia last year for a three-match Test series of which the first Test was played in Perth from December 14-17 and Vettori attended the auction in Dubai on December 19th after the Test match. According to the publication, Vettori is “a trusted lieutenant of national boss Andrew McDonald since joining Australia’s set-up.”
“Vettori’s deal with CA is different to that of McDonald, who has a full-time contract, as it requires him to be available for a set number of days. A priority is given to big Test series and white-ball tournaments so he can also perform his duties with franchises in the IPL and The Hundred in England,” the publication further wrote.
It has been further reported that there has not been clarity as of Wednesday morning if Vettori will stay with the team for the entirety of five days or will leave for the auction according to a source in the team of the publication.
