Himachal Elections 2017: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a message for the hill state
NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a message for all the voters in the hill state of Himachal Pradesh – “Urging people of Himachal Pradesh to vote in record numbers.”
On Thursday morning, the day of Himachal polls, the Prime Minister posted the following message on Twitter:
BJP has trained all it’s guns on the Himachal elections, blasting the incumbent Congress and the ‘bailed’ Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh over corruption.
Campaigning for the party, PM Modi addressed six rallies in the hill state last week. Party chief Amit Shah also addressed seven rallies.
Polling has begun in 68 constituencies in Himachal Pradesh on Thursday morning. A total of 50.25 lakh electorate, including 19 lakh women, will decide the fate of 338 candidates including 19 women.
Himachal election results will be announced after 40 days – on December 18, along with those for Gujarat, which goes to poll on December 9 and 14.
