IND vs SA 4th T20I: Sanju Samson, Tilak Varma both smash centuries against hapless South Africa bowlers | Cricket News
After losing his wickets for back to back ducks in the last 2 matches, Sanju Samson roared back into form as he bludgeoned a hapless South Africa bowling attack and scored a century, his third in the last 5 matches.
Meanwhile, Tilak Varma continued his blering run and notched up a century of his own, his second after his maiden ton in the 3rd T20I as India looked on course to post a huge total.
Samson took 51 deliveries in an innings peppered with 6 fours and 8 sixes while Varma blasted his 100 in 41 deliveries with the help of 6 fours and 9 sixes.
“I love batting at number three, but in last two matches, I played at number four. Last night he came to my room and said that ‘You will bat No. 3’ and he said it’s a good opportunity. Go and express yourself. I told him, ‘You have given me an opportunity, I will show you on the ground’,” said the second youngest Indian centurion in T20 Internationals,” Varma had said after the 3rd T20I.
“Failures are part of my life and career. There is doubt, especially with social media’s influence, but at this level, it’s important to focus on improvement. I think when you go through that failure, you have a lot of doubts in your mind. You think a lot about yourself. ‘Sanju, are you not made for international level? I think you are doing well in the IPL. Why are you not doing well internationally?’ So I have a lot of such thoughts,” Samson had said after his century in the series opener.
Meanwhile, in the 4th and final T20I, India captain Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and opted to bat against South Africa. Both the sides decided to field unchanged teams from the previous match.India lead the four-match series 2-1.
