IPL Auction 2025: Coming into the auctions with a limited purse of Rs 41 crore, Rajasthan Royals focused on acquiring key players and strong overseas players at minimal price at the IPL 2025 mega auction. Their main focus over the course of the two days was Jofra Archer, whom they spent Rs 12.5 crore on. Their other big buy was Tushar Deshpande, another pace bowler who was in the race for the Purple Cap last season at the Chennai Super Kings.
RR even acquired two Sri Lankan spinners, Wainindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana at Rs 5.25 crore and Rs 4.4 crore respectively. Even after coming into the auction with one of the lowest purses, they have made a squad that could stitch up a very strong Playing XI, with perfect balance of batters, bowlers and all rounders. But the player that is to make the headlines not just for the Royals but the entire IPL is 13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the the team bought for a staggering price of Rs 1.1 crore.
