Simon Katich calls Mohammed Siraj ‘dumb’ for his poor bowling against Travis Head | Cricket News
Former Australia batter Simon Katich didn’t minced his words on Mohammed Siraj’s poor bowling against centurion Travis Head on Day 2 of the third Test match between India and Australia at the Gabba.
In the first ball of the 60th over, Siraj bangs it short to Head and the southpaw ramped it to the boundary.
Katich, who is doing the commentary for 7Cricket slammed Siraj for his poor judgement.
“That is unbelievable from Muhammad Siraj,” said Katich.
“That is dumb. Dumb cricket!”

“Because the over before he had a man right in that spot, and he’s run in and bowled what they were planning without the fielder there.
“That is dumb. Dumb cricket.
“They’ve got two men out on the leg side, they’ve got a deep point, they had a man right in that spot for this very planned Travis Head, and then he doesn’t have the fielder.
“And now he’s going to put the fielder back down there right now.
“Horses bolted, buddy.”
Simon Katich had also slammed Mohammed Siraj for his send-off to Travis Head in the pink-ball Test in Adelaide.
“It’s a shame that Siraj had a bit of a brain fade… there’s no need for that in the game,” Katich told SEN 1170 Breakfast.
“He would regret that Siraj…”
Mohammed Siraj was fined 20 per cent of his match fee, while Travis Head was also “sanctioned” the ICC for indulging in a heated exchange of words during the day-night Test. Siraj and Head were held guilty of breaching the world body’s code of conduct following a disciplinary hearing.
