Liverpool vs Tottenham turned out to be a match that Liverpool and their forward from Egypt Mohamed Salah would never forget. The match that saw a total of nine goals, most goals scored in a Premier League match this season, saw Liverpool extend their lead at the top four points. This was further aided Chelsea’s draw against Everton that saw them lose out on valuable points. The Egyptian forward has been the star performer for Liverpool on multiple occasions, and his performances on the field on Sunday has pushed him past multiple records with Chrmas coming early for Mohamed Salah.
After his two goals and two asss against Tottenham, Salah became the first person to reach double figures of goals and asss in one season, before Chrmas. Not only that, but Salah also broke his tied record for number of goals for Liverpool with Billy Liddell for fourth most in the club’s hory in all competitions, after regering his 229th goal.
This was Salah’s sixth season of scoring more than ten goals and providing more than ten asss, crossing Wayne Rooney’s five seasons, who last reached the feat in his 2012/13 season scoring 12 goals and providing 10 asss in 27 appearances.
Though Liverpool seemed to get complacent out in the middle after being 5-1 up, and Tottenham seemed to pull themselves back with two more goals, the visitors came out on top at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
