‘Do your job’: Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sam Konstas involved in heated exchange during IND vs AUS 4th Test | Cricket News
With the last day of the 4th Test perfectly balance with India gunning for a draw as Yashasvi Jaiswal looked settled, Australia brought in debutant Sam Konstas at silly point with the 19-year-old constantly chatting away at the batters in a bid to break their concentration.
At one point, the chirping got to Jaiswal who clapped back at Konstas saying, “do your job,” before being calmed down his partner Rishabh Pant. Jaiswal was even seen asking the umpire ‘Why is he talking?’ about Konstas’ constant chirping.
As the match progressed, Jaiswal hit a ball hard outside the off stump which caught Konstas in the hip region.
#YashasviJaiswal didn’t just let his bat do the talking!
A cheeky ‘Do your job!’ to #SamKonstas was all it took to light up the game with some good old-fashioned on-field banter. 🔥👏#AUSvINDOnStar 👉 4th Test, Day 5 LIVE NOW! | #ToughestRivalry pic.twitter.com/cF7tWqLtdM

Even Steve Smith talked about it after the match. “He was chirping. I think at one point (Yashasvi) Jaiswal was actually trying to hit the ball at him to shut him up a bit. But look he’s brought great energy (to the team),” the former Australian skipper said.
Konstas has been in the eye of the storm in his debut Test with the youngster involved in a shoulder barging incident with Virat Kohli in Day 1 of the 4th Test. He also scored a 65-ball 60 in the first innings which went a long way in helping Australia secure a 184-run win.
“I mean, he’s mad. I think he really enjoyed himself under the lid there,” Smith said.
The hosts are currently leading 2-1 in the series with wins in Melbourne and Adelaide while India won the opening Test at Perth. The 3rd Test at Brisbane was declared a draw due to adverse weather conditions.
