India Women’s U19 T20 World Cup 2025: Defending champions India will be among 16 teams in action during the second edition of the ICC Women’s Under 19 World Cup in Malayasia, starting on January 19, Saturday, in Malaysia.
India lifted the trophy in the inaugural edition of the tournament in South Africa in 2023 under Shafali Verma’s leadership. With the presence of established senior players in Verma and Richa Ghosh, India coasted through the group stage before topping the Super 6 stage. They later beat New Zealand and England in convincing fashion to clinch the title, with Shweta Sehrawat topping the run charts with 297 runs.
With a renewed led Nikki Prasad who recently marshalled the side to victory in the maiden U19 Women’s Asia Cup tournament, India will be confident of retaining the championship.

India are placed in Group A alongside hosts Malaysia, Sri Lanka and West Indies. Three teams from each of the four groups will qualify for the 12-team Super 6 stage. The top four teams across two Super 6 pools will qualify for the semi-finals.
