Magnus Carlsen calls for Ruben Amorim’s sacking after another Manchester United loss | Chess News
Five-time world champion Magnus Carlsen has asked Manchester United to sack their manager Ruben Amorim after they stumbled to their 10th Premier League defeat. Manchester United lost 1-3 to Brighton at Old Trafford. The 20-time Premier League champions are currently placed at the 13th in the standings and are closer to the relegation zone than Champions League qualification.

Amorim has lost seven of his 15 games in charge since succeeding former manager Erik ten Hag in November.
Ten Hag won two domestic cups in his 2 1/2 years at United, but in October he paid the price for the club’s worst start to a season, with the team in 14th place and having lost four of its opening nine league games.
Six defeats from the first 12 home league games of the season is United’s worst run since 1893-94, according to the Premier League’s statician Opta.
Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has described his team as “maybe the worst” in the 147-year hory of the club.
“We are being the worst, maybe, in the hory of Manchester United,” the United head coach said. “I am saying that because we have to acknowledge and change that.”
Carlsen in the past has shown his interest in football.
Carlsen is a massive football fan and is his favorite sport outside of chess. He is a big fan of Spanish giants Real Madrid and keeps attending their games occasionally.

However, he later sparked a controversy, when he favored Lionel Messi in the longstanding debate between Ronaldo and the Argentine.
Apart from Real Madrid, the Carlsen is also a big fan of the Premier League. He started playing the fantasy game as a draction from chess, but became one of the biggest fan of the fantasy games, especially Fantasy Premier League (FPL). He was once number one on the FPL rankings and it mentioned in his Twitter bio, as well“Former (live) #1 Fantasy Premier League player.”
In 2020, Carlsen posted a tweet in support of Liverpool, after they won the Premier League title.
