Kylian Mbappe fires back at Neymar’s claim of jealousy towards Lionel Messi | Football News

Kylian Mbappe has fired back at his former PSG teammate Neymar and says he has a lots of respect for the Brazilian.
Earlier this week, speaking in a podcast hosted World Cup winner Romário, Neymar had revealed that Kylian Mbappe was “jealous” of Lionel Messi after the Argentine superstar joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2021.
“We had some good years of partnership, but after Messi came he was a little jealous. He didn’t want to split me with anyone. And then there were some fights, a change in behavior,” Neymar had said.
Responding to Neymar’s comments, Mbappe, who now plays for Real Madrid told TNT Sports Brasil: “The truth is I have nothing to say. I’m very concentrated on what I’m doing here in Madrid.”

“I have a lot of respect for Neymar.
“I could talk many times about Neymar, but I want to remember the positives, of a unique footballer in the hory of football and all the moments we had in Paris.”
Both Neymar and Mbappe joined PSG in 2017 from Barcelona and AS Monaco, respectively.
Neymar had also said that big egos affected the performances of PSG in big matches.
“It is good to have egos, but you have to know that you don’t play alone,” Neymar said.
“There needs to be another guy your side. [Big] egos were almost everywhere, it can’t work. If nobody runs and nobody helps, it is impossible to win anything.”

Meanwhile, Mbappe, who had struggled in his first season with Madrid but has been gradually meeting the expectations that came with his high profile.
He extended a scoring streak with a brace as Madrid routed 10-man Las Palmas 4-1 in La Liga Sunday, reaching four goals in his last four matches.
Mbappé said he was overthinking when he first arrived.
“I was thinking too much about everything, about how to do things, how to position myself on the field. … And when you think too much, you don’t play well. When you come to Real Madrid you have to be humble, the team had just won a Champions League, I couldn’t arrive and ask for everybody to just give me the ball. You have to show respect.”
