Pakan cricket team announce 15-member squad for Champions Trophy | Cricket News

After a long wait, defending champions Pakan on Friday unveiled the squad for the upcoming Champions Trophy. The team will be skippered Mohammad Rizwan with Salman Ali Agha as the vice-captain. It also has three members from the 2017 Champions Trophy winning side in Babar Azam, Faheem Ashraf and Fakhar Zaman.
Pakan made four changes in the 15-player squad which had last played an ODI series in South Africa late last year with Abdullah Shafique, Muhammad Irfan Khan, Saim Ayub and Sufyan Moqim getting replaced Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Khushdil Shah and Saud Shakeel.
Babar and Fakhar, along with Haris Rauf, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Shakeel had also featured in the last 50-over ICC event which was the ODI Cricket World Cup 2023 held in India.

In the lead up to the Champions Trophy, the squad will play in a tri-nation ODI series, featuring New Zealand and South Africa in Lahore and Karachi.

The Champions Trophy is scheduled to take place from February 19 to March 9 in Pakan with India playing its matches in Dubai.
Pakan start their campaign against New Zealand on February 19 in Karachi before moving to Dubai to take on arch-rivals India on February 23. They will then return to Pakan to wrap up their group stage commitments with a match against Bangladesh at Rawalpindi.
Since the 2023 World Cup, Pakan have been in hot form in ODIs, having won against defeating 50-over world champions Australia 2-1, Zimbabwe 2-1 and South Africa 3-0.
