The 25-year-old Duplantis had earlier in the day released his first song “Bop” under his nickname “Mondo”. His song played over the arena’s sound system during his record jump. “When I made this song a couple of months ago, I thought this would be a perfect song to jump to here. That’s why I rushed it out,” Duplantis said.

When did Duplantis break his record for the first time?
His first world record vault came in Torun, Poland back in February 2020, when he cleared 6.17m to add a centimetre to Renaud Lavillenie’s previous world record of 6.16m that had stood since 2014. The Swede then went on to break his record immediately the weekend after in Glasgow, exactly 6 years after Lavillenie. He broke the record thrice in the 2022, twice in 2023, thrice in 2024 (including the night he won gold at the Paris Olympics) and now has started the 2025 season with a new mark in just his second event.
“I know I can jump higher, and I want to jump a lot higher,” Duplantis had earlier told Olympics.com. “I would like to jump over 6.30m.” He is getting ever so closer to it.
