Ahead of his team’s match against Arsenal, Manchester United manager Ruben said that he would not have as much time to change the club’s fortunes like which was afforded to Mikel Arteta after the Spaniard joined the London club in 2019. Arteta, who has transformed the Gunners into a squad which is capable of a title challenge, just has a FA Cup in his trophy cabinet.
“I will not have the time that Arteta had. I feel that [Arsenal] is a different club,” Amorim said.
“It is a different club, in that aspect, the way how Arteta dealt with that [the issues] is an inspiration for everybody,” he added. Arsenal are currently placed second in the Premier League table with a gap of 13 points with leaders Liverpool. The Gunner, however have a game in hand. United, meanwhile, are 14th.

In Arsenal’s last match which was in the Champions League, they took a massive step toward a quarterfinal spot with a 7-1 win at PSV Eindhoven. It was the biggest victory in an away match in the knockout stage of the Champions League, UEFA said.
“It’s a massive result away from home in a competition that we love, that we miss for so many years,” Arteta said. “Today is a really special night for us.”
United, meanwhile, settled for a 1-1 draw with Real Sociedad in the first leg of the Europa League round of 16 on Thursday.
United led on Joshua Zirkzee’s goal in the 58th minute but the hosts equalized 12 minutes later after Bruno Fernandes’ hand ball. Mikel Oyarzabal sent Andre Onana the wrong way from the penalty spot.Story continues below this ad
The Europa League could be a way for United to finish the season with a trophy after crashing out of the FA Cup on Sunday.
A spot in the quarterfinals will be on the line at Old Trafford in the second leg next Thursday.
