India’s Virat Kohli could soon close in on Gayle as he became only the fifth batter to reach 13,000 runs during the ongoing IPL 2025 season. Kohli also leads the charts among Indian batters in terms of centuries, smashing nine in his career, eight of which have come in the IPL. Kohli had previously gone past the 10,000-run mark T20 milestone during the 2021 IPL, reaching the feat in 299 innings as the third-quickest batter after Babar Azam and Gayle.
Over 8000 of Kohli’s T20 runs have come in the IPL, where the Royal Challengers Bengaluru star continues to top the batting charts.
